Director of Operations

The Director of Operations will be responsible for operations within the Americas region. This role currently provides single site responsibility. The current site is responsible for daily manufacturing operations, supply planning, procurement, process engineering, quality, logistics, and maintenance.

  • EMPOWER A HIGH-PERFORMING TEAM – Inspire, motivate, evaluate, and develop plant management providing oversight for 100+ team members across three shifts. Foster a culture that promotes employee engagement, teamwork, accountability, coaching and mentoring.
  • PROVIDE THE VISION- Roll-up your sleeves to drive plans to execution for today while managing the operational strategic plan for the future. Develop a strategic plan for the function that compliments overall corporate strategy and enables us to successfully reach growth objectives.
  • DRIVE OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE – With an eye to the future, observe and assess all aspects of the manufacturing process including production planning/ scheduling, inventory management and work processes. Gain an understanding of the pain points, obstacles and areas that can be improved upon. Implement process improvements, automation, and lean methodologies to enhance processes, efficiency and productivity while reducing waste and costs to ensure the highest product quality. Challenge the status quo and advocate for operational excellence.
  • ENSURE SAFETY & QUALITY EXCELLENCE –Leads best practices and policy deployment to foster a culture of safety. Ensure compliance with all regulations to ensure a safe work environment. Implement and maintain rigorous quality control standards to uphold product excellence and customer satisfaction.

 

 

The Details:

  • Develop and implement the manufacturing strategy for the USA
  • Deliver targeted annual productivity improvements, while managing project pipeline for
  • business opportunities that will help drive Operational Excellence, Growth, and Productivity
  • Establish sustainable supply chains between globalized sites and the host sites
  • Develop and document a “best-in-class” structured process for assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of operations processes.
  • Drive operational and profitability metrics and analytics to achieve financial targets.
  • Develop annual manufacturing plan in consultation with other senior leaders to ensure proper usage of resources to achieve required levels of production and customer delivery requirements
  • Other duties as required.

The Prerequisites

  •  10+ years of experience in products, engineering, or manufacturing operations
  • 5+years of experience leading a workforce with over 100 employees
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field
  • A background within complex manufacturing companies (ideally plastics, adhesives or similar), multi-site experience is preferred.
  • Proven experience in understanding business principles, financial literacy and budgetary management.
  • Strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and market insight to make informed decisions and drive organizational success.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute solutions tactically
  • Flexibility to work effectively in a changing environment; ability to adapt to changes in work environment, work assignments and/or changes in priorities.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills and must be able to effectively present information to others.
  • Strong project management skills; highly organized and capable of effective, efficient multi-tasking and time management
  • Works independently while simultaneously directing the work effort of others.
  • Prior experience working within a matrix organization is strongly preferred.
