Job Description:
General Statement of Duties:
The Print Shop Assistant will support the efficient operation of the print shop by performing various tasks related to print production, organization, and customer service. This position requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. The Print Shop Assistant must also be physically capable of lifting heavy boxes, standing for extended periods, and performing various tasks as directed.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and organize the print shop to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Lift and load paper, equipment, and other materials weighing up to 50lbs as needed.
- Make deliveries to various departments throughout the building, ensuring timely and accurate distribution of printed materials.
- Assisting with layout adjustments and file preparation by request of Print Shop Manager.
- Assisting with operating and maintaining print shop equipment, such as printers, copiers, and bindery machines.
- Conducting quality control checks on printed materials to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Assist the Print Shop Manager with inventory levels of paper, ink, and other supplies, and submitting purchase requests as needed.
- Providing support for large-scale printing projects, including event signage, posters, and banners.
- Assisting with the coordination of print orders, including gathering job specifications and communicating with colleagues by request of Print Shop Manager.
- Troubleshooting equipment issues and performing basic maintenance tasks as needed.
- Collaborating with other departments and campus organizations to fulfill printing needs for events and initiatives by request of Print Shop Manager.
- Assisting with special projects or initiatives as assigned by the Print Shop Manager or supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent credential
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50lbs), stand for long periods, and perform manual tasks as required.
- Motivated and flexible with the ability to switch tasks frequently to meet project deadlines.
- Willingness to take direction, learn new skills, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a print shop or similar production environment.
- Familiarity with printing equipment and finishing processes (e.g., laminating, binding, cutting).
- Customer service experience and the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.

Salary: $20.00 per hour
